Hi, my name is Carol. I am the proud owner of American School of Dog Training (A. S. D. T.) and I'd like to take this opportunity to congratulate you for taking the first step toward a better relationship with your pet. Allow me to assure you that our facility employs only the most qualified trainers who have completed an extensive and rigorous apprenticeship program under the watchful eye of a master trainer. We are very versed in dog psychology, enabling us to specialize in behavioral modification. Our methods are as positive as can be in every individual situation. We attempt at all times to cater to the special wishes of our clients, which is why we allow you the option of customizing a course for your pet. There are also two courses we have assembled for your convenience from which you also may choose. The only difference between these courses would be the number of commands that your pet will be taught. The basic course would include 13 obedience commands and the advanced course would include 21 obedience commands. Your pet does not need to know any prior obedience commands to be signed up for either course. He or she will simply know more upon the completion of the advanced course. Both courses address any and all behavior problems. Anything that your pet is doing that you do not appreciate will fall into the behavioral category. We encourage you to start your pet’s training as early as 8 to 10 weeks of age; however, we work with dogs of all ages. The courses that we have assembled for your convenience are no time limit courses. In other words, you come to class once a week until you achieve your goals for that portion of the course. We begin with you and your pet in the private/non-distractive portion of the course, where your goals will be to establish the 13 or 21 commands and to address behavioral issues. We work extensively with you as well, to make you as comfortable as possible in working with your pet on a leash in the non-distractive environment. At that point, we advance you to the group portion of the course. There you'll be taught how to separate your hand and verbal commands, so when you're pet graduates, he or she will be equally as responsive to either type of command. We teach you how to work effectively with a long line (usually a 20' leash), which expands your radius of control. In other words, your pet will be clear that he or she should listen to you from 20' away, and not just from 6'. This prepares you and your pet for the final step, off-leash (yes, it's true). When you and your pet graduate, he or she will be performing off-leash. At this time, you and your pet will receive a graduation diploma and a complimentary bumper sticker. Upon receipt of your diploma, you and your pet also receive a lifetime training guarantee that states we will maintain your pet both with his or her behavioral issues and obedience as long as you personally own him or her. This makes your pet a lifetime member. He or she is welcome back to the group at any time, for any reason, at no additional fee. The price of the basic obedience course (13 commands) runs $400. The price of the advanced obedience course (21 commands) runs $550. These prices reflect one person accompanying the dog through the course. If you would like our facility to work with more than one person (the main handler), we would be more than happy to do so. If you choose this option there is an additional one-time fee of only $25 per each additional person and they will at that point be included throughout the entire course. Our hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 9 A.M. to 8 P.M., Saturday from 8 A.M. to 6 P.M. and Sunday from 8 A.M. to 5 P.M. You are welcome any time to take advantage of our free consultation appointment. You'll get a free evaluation of your pet, giving you our opinion of his or her training ability, we’ll go into more detail as to how our courses work, and we will see to it that all of your questions are answered. We're looking forward to hearing from you and helping you to achieve the relationship you desire with your pet. Sincerely, Carol L. Roberts, President
